Hafizh Syahrin Finishes Third in ARRC Debut Season

Hafizh Syahrin wrapped up his debut season in the 2024 ARRC Superbike Championship with Third Overall, Setting the Stage for an Intense Title Run Next Season.

National motorcycle racer Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah concluded his 2024 campaign in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) with a commendable third-place overall finish in the Asia Superbike 1000cc category. The season finale, held at the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand last week, capped off a challenging yet promising year for the JDT Racing Team rider.

Hafizh, a former MotoGP competitor, displayed consistency and resilience throughout the season. Highlighted by a victory at the Zhuhai Circuit in China and five podium finishes, he amassed 154 points across six ARRC rounds. His performance sets the stage for what could be a more competitive title challenge next year.

Japan’s Yuki Kunii, representing SDG Team HARC-PRO Honda Ph, clinched the overall championship with 183 points, while Indonesia’s Andi Farid Izdihar of Honda Asia-Dream Racing Astemo finished as runner-up with 181 points.

Despite fielding only one rider, the JDT Racing Team managed to secure fifth place in the constructors’ standings out of 10 teams, underscoring the team’s efforts and Hafizh’s contributions.

During the final weekend, Hafizh placed fifth in Race 1, clocking a time of 20 minutes 53.22 seconds. However, an incident in Race 2 relegated him to a 10th-place finish with a time of 21:31.096.

Reflecting on the season via Instagram, Hafizh shared his gratitude and determination. “Unfortunately, I failed to challenge for the championship this season, finishing in third place overall,” he wrote. “I hope that in the future we will deliver stronger performances right from the start, as we often struggle with the machinery early in the action.”

Acknowledging the performance gap between his team’s Ducati Panigale V4R and their rivals, Hafizh emphasized the need for future improvements. He also expressed appreciation to the Crown Prince of Johor (TMJ) for his unwavering support. “Thank God, what TMJ offers is more than enough, it’s just luck not on my side this year. Thank you to TMJ. Without Tunku, I might not have been able to race this year,” Hafizh told Astro Arena.

Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of the TKKR Racing Team rode his M1000RR during the Sepang round.

Other Malaysian riders in the Superbike class also delivered commendable performances. Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman secured fifth overall with 126 points, Md Zaqhwan Zaidi finished sixth with 121 points, and Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin claimed eighth place with 85 points.

Zaqhwan emerged as Malaysia’s top performer in Buriram, finishing as runner-up in Race 1 and fourth in Race 2, concluding the season on a high note.
