Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia succeeded in both the EnduroGP and Enduro1 categories on day two of the penultimate round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Wales.

The Spaniard engaged in a fierce battle for the top spot, extended his lead in the EnduroGP class to 17 points with just one round remaining.

Fresh from his victory at the GP of Slovakia, Garcia entered the Welsh round determined to solidify his lead. Despite a strong second-place finish in the Friday evening super test, Garcia struggled initially on Saturday. However, he regained his form in the final lap, finishing third in EnduroGP and second in Enduro1.

On day two, Garcia quickly took the lead and maintained his pace, fighting closely with Brad Freeman and Steve Holcombe.

Entering the final test just one second behind Freeman, Garcia delivered a blistering performance to clinch the EnduroGP victory by 15 hundredths of a second. He also secured his seventh win in Enduro1 this season.

As the championship heads to its final round in France from September 13-15, Garcia holds a 17-point lead in EnduroGP and leads Enduro1 by six points.

Reflecting on his performance, Garcia said, “It’s been a super competitive weekend in Wales, but I’m pleased to have come away with the EnduroGP victory on day two. I knew day two could be better and began fast. The battle was super tight, and it all boiled down to the final test. I’m so happy I won and can now look forward to the final round in France next month.”

FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Gus Riordan, a wildcard entry, also impressed in Wales. The young Australian set the fastest time in Friday’s Super Test and won day one in the Enduro Junior category. He narrowly missed a double victory, finishing as runner-up on Sunday by less than half a second.
