TKKR Racing Team Faces Sponsorship Hurdles Ahead of ARRC 2024

TKKR Racing Team, the reigning champions of the Asia Superbike 1000cc (ASB1000) class, find themselves in a challenging position as they strive to secure sponsorship for the upcoming 2024 Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC) season.

Despite facing difficulties in securing sponsorship, the team remains steadfast in their optimism, determined to continue their pursuit before the season kicks off officially at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand next month.

In a recent Facebook post, the team candidly revealed their struggle in securing sponsorship, acknowledging the potential halt to their journey in the Asian racing circuit for the year if a sponsor is not found soon. However, they reaffirm their commitment to relentless efforts in seeking sponsorship, refusing to let obstacles deter their racing ambitions.

“Up until today, we have yet to secure sponsorship to compete in ARRC 2024. If in the near future we fail to find a replacement sponsor, our journey in Asia may come to a halt for this year,” TKKR Racing Team expressed in their post, before doubling down on their determination in a subsequent update.

“Of course, we will strive to continue racing,” the team emphasized in their follow-up post.

Last season, TKKR Racing Team clinched back-to-back titles in the premier ASB1000 class, with German rider Markus Reiterberger piloting the BMW M1000 RR to overall victory, accumulating 250.5 points. The team also emerged victorious in the overall team classification, amassing 402 points, with their closest challenger from Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA trailing behind with 360.5 points.

Notably, when the ASB1000 class debuted in 2019, the inaugural overall champion was another rider from the TKKR Racing Team, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman. Subsequently, the championship was seized by Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA’s rider Zahqwan Zaidi in 2022.

Despite the sponsorship challenges, TKKR Racing Team remains resolute in their pursuit of excellence, poised to defend their titles and uphold their legacy in the fiercely competitive world of Asian motorcycle racing. With their determination unyielding, the team eagerly anticipates overcoming obstacles and making their mark once again on the ARRC circuit.
