This launch marked the realization of a strategic agreement forged in 2016, designating EMOS as the exclusive distributor of Kymco products in Malaysia.

Since the agreement, EMOS has not only managed distribution but also actively participated in the assembly, testing, and stringent quality inspection of Kymco products up to 250cc. The partnership has been characterized by trust, shared vision, and a commitment to offering Malaysian riders unparalleled choices in the scooter market.

During the event, it was emphasized the collaborative effort that brought the AK550 Premium to fruition. Priced at RM65,600 (excluding insurance and road tax), this ‘Super Touring’ scooter will grace selected Authorized Modenas Dealer Showrooms starting February 2024.

George Kashiwagi, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of KYMCO, then took the stage to present the unique features and design philosophy of the AK550 Premium. Kashiwagi highlighted that this top-tier maxi scooter goes beyond being a mere mode of transportation; it’s a fashion statement, an embodiment of individuality.

Designed for mature riders seeking comfort and luxury, the AK550 Premium boasts a stunning and exclusive appearance. Its 550cc 2-cylinder engine, with a maximum output of 37.5kW, ensures a smooth and responsive ride. The aluminum frame, designed for lightness and strength, contributes to the scooter’s easy and steady handling.

Safety is paramount in the AK550 Premium, featuring a special front fork, Brembo front brake, and the Advanced Intelligent Braking System (AIBS). AIBS enhances safety by intelligently controlling brake application during turns, especially on surfaces with limited grip.

The scooter offers two power modes, including a “Rain Mode” for wet surfaces, accommodating different weather conditions. Additional features like cruise control, traction control, and an electronic adjustable windshield enhance rider comfort and safety.

Furthermore, the AK550 Premium is equipped with practical elements, such as charging ports, ample storage space, and a smart feature called Noodoe. Noodoe connects the scooter’s premium LCD dash to a smartphone via Bluetooth, providing real-time weather updates, smart compass guidance, speed reminders, and even a bike locator feature.

In conclusion, the KYMCO AK550 Premium stands as a testament to the successful collaboration between EMOS and KYMCO, offering riders a harmonious blend of performance, safety, and cutting-edge technology for an unparalleled riding experience.
