The Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP rider showed consistent performance, leading the race from start to finish.

Veijer had a strong start, quickly moving to the front. However, Jaume Masiá of Leopard Racing/Honda gained the second spot early on. Ivan Ortolá from Angeluss MTA Team/KTM secured third place.

In the first lap, Masiá took the lead, and Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) moved to third. Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) passed Ortolá, changing the order. The Moto3 action saw frequent position changes, with Öncü surpassing Veijer and grabbing third place.

As typical in Moto3, the lead group shuffled positions. By the eleventh lap, Masiá dropped to fifth, while Sasaki reclaimed the top spot. Öncü and David Muñoz (BOE Motorsport/KTM) secured podium places. Despite a dramatic incident on the fifth lap involving Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) and David Alonso (Gaviota GasGas Aspar), the competition continued undeterred.

The leading group persisted in their fierce competition. With nine laps left, Sasaki and Veijer held the top two spots, with Matteo Bertelle (Rivacold Snipers Team/Honda) in fourth, close behind Masiá. Position changes created uncertainty on the Sepang circuit.

Approaching the race climax, six riders contended for the win: Sasaki, Veijer, Masiá, Öncü, Bertelle, and José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo). Three laps from the end, Rueda, Öncü, and Bertelle faced an incident. Ajo riders fell, with Bertelle recovering to ninth.

The battle for victory intensified with Sasaki, Veijer, and Masiá in the final laps. In a thrilling last lap, Veijer successfully held off Sasaki’s attacks to secure his first win. Masiá finished third, with Ortolá and Muñoz completing the top five, followed by Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda). Despite the incident, Bertelle finished 11th ahead of Öncü, while Rueda retired.

Collin Veijer’s triumph adds another first-time winner to the Moto3 World Championship, establishing him as a rising star in the exciting world of motorcycle racing.
