In an exciting race at the Grand Prix Malaysia 2023, Malaysian Moto3 rider Syarifuddin Azman, or Damok, had a mix of emotions as he gave it his all.
Riding for MT Helmets MSI, the 21-year-old showed promise before the race, boosting his confidence for an aggressive strategy.
But Damok’s luck turned in the last three laps. Despite the letdown, he finished the race and thanked fans for their support.
“I’m glad I finished, even with a fall in the last laps. Not thrilled this time, but I improved and fought for points. Happy with the tough competition. Thanks to fans for being here. Excited to see their support.”
Looking back, Damok shared, “During the ‘Sighting Lap,’ my bike felt good for points. Confident to attack for points. When I fell, trying to pass a rider, maybe too aggressive. By the 10th lap, I could compete for points.”
“Confident for points, but luck wasn’t on my side,” said Damok, gearing up for GP Qatar on November 17-19.
Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP’s Collin Veijer won the Moto3 race in 33 minutes 30.072 seconds. Teammate Ayumu Sasaki from Japan took second in 33 minutes 30.138 seconds.
Leopard Racing’s Jaume Masia completed the podium in 33 minutes 30.400 seconds. The intense race showcased Moto3 spirit, leaving fans eager for the next one in Qatar.
