While Tossa R has worked on motorcycles from various Japanese brands, their BMW creations have gained a special following.

A loyal customer, impressed by a previous Tossa R BMW R nineT build, commissioned a second masterpiece.

The transformation of the BMW R nineT ‘Carbon’ Edition starts with a meticulous strip-down, which requires careful planning due to the bike’s complex electronics.

Asen, an expert in this craft, skillfully reworks the wiring and relocates the ignition under the seat. They add a new subframe, positioning it above the main frame to create Tossa R’s signature style.

BMW R nineT ‘Carbon’

This lightweight round tube subframe is both visually appealing and strong, concealing wires internally. The front part of the subframe also serves as the rear tank support.

The seat, made from a carbon fiber base, offers both minimal weight and sleek aesthetics. It’s cushioned for comfort with black and white-stitched foam pads.

The standout feature is the carbon fiber tank, originally for a BMW K but adapted for the R nineT. This tank is a work of art with its lightweight build, striking lines, and a sculpted-in race filler.

Carbon fiber extends to the front and rear fenders, adding style and practicality. Even the engine gets carbon rocker covers for added flair.

To protect and enhance the carbon fiber, a glossy clear coat is carefully applied. The bike’s unique charm comes from the brandy wine candy paint, which sparkles with metallic flakes in the right light. Gold graphics break up the color scheme and are meticulously applied to the front and rear wheels.

For keen BMW enthusiasts, the wheels on this R nineT ‘Carbon’ Edition are not the factory options. Asen opted for K1200 wheels, chosen for their striking appearance and their ability to support a wide 190-section Pirelli Super Corsa tire.

The result is a mix of cafe racer and street fighter aesthetics. Tossa swapped the traditional headlight for a futuristic one from a Yamaha MT-03 and replaced the stock shock with a high-end Ohlins unit to ensure stability.

But don’t forget the engine. It had minor modifications to the 1200cc boxer engine to boost its torque. Ceramic-coated headers connect to a side exit pipe with an internal sound control.

Meanwhile, intake receives an upgrade with long velocity stacks, bell mouths, and internal filters for improved low-end torque.

The minimalist electronics come mainly from Motogadget, providing a clean and sophisticated look. The Tossa R ‘Carbon’ No. 2 is a head-turner, ready to stand out in any crowd and keep up on thrilling rides through the streets of Sofia.
