The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will implement a Special Summons Fee Rate of only RM50 for all traffic summonses, starting from 21 April until 21 May 2023.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, the special rate applies to offences in 2022 and before.

“Each summons can be settled at a rate of RM50. This special rate does not apply to traffic summons issued in 2023.

“Despite that, PDRM is committed to continuing to ensure road safety at an optimal level, especially during the festive season.

“Therefore, to ensure smooth travel for road users in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, PDRM will implement Op Lancar on 18 and 19 April 2023. It will mainly focus on routes that are expected to experience congestion,” he said.

The Prime Minister added that the government will be implementing Op Selamat 20 from 20 April 2023 onwards. The initiative will last for a period of seven days with the theme ‘Safe Home, Safe Arrival’.

“For this purpose, PDRM will also collaborate with other agencies including RELA and the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM).

“It is to ensure that ‘hotspots’ routes such as entrances and exits at toll plazas, do not experience traffic congestion,” he said.

He said this at a special press conference at the Prime Minister’s Office here, on Tuesday.

Also present were the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub and the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming.
