When Kawasaki unveiled the ZX-25R at the Tokyo Motor Show 2019, motorcycle enthusiasts all around the world, especially in Asia, were excited by the return of the 250cc 4-cylinder engine.

The motorcycle turned out to be in a class of its own when the most powerful 250cc sportsbike in its class appeared with 50hp and 22.9Nm.

As of June 2021, Kawasaki managed to sell more than 4,000 units of the ZX-25R, exceeding the expectation of 2,000 units set by the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer.

After the success of the ZX-25R, Kawasaki was linked with the development of the ZX-4R in May this year. Shortly after that, Kawasaki was found to have patented the ZX-4R name and filed the model in the North American and European markets as well as strengthening the claims of the arrival of a more powerful model.

Furthermore, Kawasaki Indonesia has uploaded the latest announcement on their official Instagram page.

Based on the 30-second video, Kawasaki revealed that there is a new model called ZX that will be launched on October 1.

Undoubtedly Kawasaki has several other ZX models including the ZX-25R, ZX-6R and ZX-10R. But considering all the above models have already been updated for 2022, this means that the announcement refers to a brand new model.

With the name ZX-4R already floating around with name registration and documentation already filed in several countries, it is almost certain that the model to be introduced refers to Kawasaki’s latest 400cc 4-cylinder machine.

Based on previous reports, the Kawasaki ZX-4R is expected to offer more than 60hp.
