Revelation of Buell SuperTouring 1190 and DR Baja sparks disappointment

Revelation of Buell SuperTouring 1190 and DR Baja sparks disappointment

Buell Motorcycles has already unveiled two new machines for the global market, namely the SuperTouring 1190 and DR Baja, recently.

While DR Baja features a conventional ‘dirt bike’ design, the SuperTouring 1190’s design has captured the attention of many.

While the teaser picture that aired a year ago made many feel excited, the actual model that was officially showcased at Daytona Bike Week 2022 recently turned out to be questionable. Many have taken it to Instagram to express how disappointing the revelation is.

Buell Motorcycles’ claims this bike to be the most powerful touring motorcycle. This SuperTouring 1190 is powered by the same 1190cc V-Twin engine taken from the sports bike model, The Hammerhead. The engine is capable of producing 185hp and 137Nm.

Although the figures produced are impressive but the same story cannot be told about the design of the machinery.

This is because the overall look of the model is quite strange and unusual. The front room houses twin round LED lights inspired by the Buell XB12 model and are housed in a large all-black panel.

While the top is placed a vertical windshield with a side profile featuring a ‘fuel-in-frame’ concept design.

To be honest, the SuperTouring 1190 looks like a combination of pieces from various other Buell Motorcycles.

Aside from the weird look, the Buell SuperTouring 1190 also comes with an incredible price tag, USD21,995 (RM92,049.08).

Meanwhile, DR Baja marked Buell Motorcycles’ new step into the ‘dirt bike’ segment.
