KTM Malaysia to launch the updated 2021 KTM 200 Duke this week?

KTM Malaysia to launch the updated 2021 KTM 200 Duke this week?

KTM Malaysia’s latest Facebook launch teaser post hints at the arrival of an all-new motorcycle. We think it’s the updated 2021 KTM 200 Duke that’s in line for the official launch. Here are the details!

KTM Malaysia has just put up a launch teaser for an incoming motorcycle. The official launch is set to take place on the 27th of March 2021, which is this coming Saturday. The teaser poster doesn’t show the incoming motorcycle in detail.

However, the tags on the video narrow it down to a small capacity KTM Duke model. Looking at KTM Malaysia’s current catalogue the “mini Duke” that’s awaiting an update is the KTM 200 Duke.  So we think it’s the updated 2021 KTM 200 Duke that would be launched this Saturday.

2021 KTM 200 Duke Specifications – Malaysian market (Speculated)

As the specifications of KTM motorcycles are market-specific we can’t guarantee the details of the Malaysia-bound 2021 KTM 200 Duke. However, we think the incoming 2021 KTM 200 Duke would be very similar to the international market models. Having said that, we think the Malaysia-spec model would most likely get the latest “next-gen” Duke bodywork, WP Upsidedown front fork, BYBRE braking system, single-channel BOSCH ABS,  a new two-part seat, updated fuel tank and LCD instrument cluster.

Besides this, similar to the foreign market models, we think there would be a lot of updates around the 199.5cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine as well. These updates could include updated cylinder heads, injection and exhaust system.

Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the 2021 KTM 200 Duke makes a maximum power of 25.47 hp and a peak torque of 19.5 Nm, so we predict the Malaysian model to roll in with the same engine output figures. Well, for now, we can only speculate. For more firm details, let’s wait a few more days for KTM Malaysia to officially pull the cover off the bike.
