Yamaha Motor Malaysia has been teasing fans on Facebook for some time now. From the most recent launch teaser post last week. we speculated the model that’s next in line for launch is the next generation Yamaha Y15ZR V3. In fact, soon after the teaser post went live pictures of the next generation Y15ZR (V3) at Sepang International Circuit started spreading like wildfire online which now confirms our earlier speculations.

If that’s not enough, after doing some digging we found out certain Yamaha motorcycle dealers around Malaysia have already started taking in bookings for the next-gen Yamaha Y15ZR V3.

 

With the official launch set for 18th March 2020, some Yamaha dealers seem to be already at work advertising for the model. Apparently, there are quite a lot of people who have already booked the upcoming bike.

So what would the name be?  Yamaha Y15 ZR V3? Yamaha Y155 ZR VVA? or Yamaha Y16 ZR VVA?

We tried to find out the exact name of the next-generation Y15ZR, sadly, we couldn’t crack it. The model is currently being referred to as “Yamaha Y15ZR V3″, ” Yamaha Y155 ZR VVA”, “Yamaha Y16” and “Yamaha Y16 ZR VVA”, however, we can’t quite figure out how HLYM would name the model.

Speaking of the bike, it is expected to roll in with an array of features and upgrades similar to the recently launched Yamaha Exciter 155 VVA from Vietnam. Having said that, the model would get a new fairing design, chassis, engine, suspension and braking components. Besides this, we can expect to see an updated electronic package as well. How about the 2021 Yamaha NVX V2?

Besides the Yamaha Y15ZR V3, we still think there is a possibility that HLYM would pull the cover off the next-gen Yamaha NVX V2. Well, only time would tell.
