KTM 790 Based CFMOTO 800MT Adventurer Spotted Again!

KTM 790 Based CFMOTO 800MT Adventurer Spotted Again!

CFMOTO 800MT adventurer test mule has been spotted again! Here is everything you need to know about CFMOTO’s upcoming 799cc dual-sport adventurer!

Back in 2018, KTM and CFMOTO officially announced their joint venture, CFMoto-KTMR2R. With this, the plan was to transfer the production of KTM’s middleweight parallel-twin 799cc LC8c models to CFMoto’s Hangzhou plant in China starting 2020.

Following this, earlier this year a  KTM-powered CFMOTO 800MT Adventurer test mule was spotted testing on the road. Well, another test mule has been spotted again recently. Thanks to this, we have more details on CFMOTO’s upcoming 800MT Adventurer.

CFMOTO 800MT Specs [Speculated]

So speaking of the CFMOTO 800MT, the design looks neat and we think CFMOTO has done a tremendous job with this bike. As expected, the 800MT comes with full LED headlamp as well as a large TFT display. Aside from the modern looks, we think the CFMOTO 800MT would surely feature modern tech such as smartphone integration with navigation and more.

Moreover, from the design, it looks like the 800MT is more of a dual-sport adventure bike than just an adventure tourer.  In the case of the engine, the CFMOTO 800MT is expected to be powered by  KTM 790 Adventure’s 799 cc LC8c parallel-twin engine which pushes out 95.1 ps /93.7 hp and 88 Nm of torque. However, CFMOTO would more likely do a few changes /updates to give the 800MT its own character. If that’s the case, we think the 800MT would also get bidirectional quick shifter as standard.

On the suspension side, the 800 MT packs inverted front fork and mono-shock at the rear. As for braking, twin front discs with radial callipers and rear disc with sliding calliper take care of the business. As we mentioned earlier since its more of a dual-sport adventurer, the 800MT packs dual-purpose tyres that wrap around 19-inch spoke wheels up front and 17-inch spoke wheel at the rear.

CFMOTO 800MT Availability

Judging from the latest leak, it looks like the CFMOTO 800MT would enter production very soon. In fact, sources suggest the 800MT was supposed to enter production in Septemeber and be introduced by this year, 2020. However, the launch has now been pushed back to early 2021, more likely because of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
