In commemoration of Yamaha MotoGP Team; Hong Leong Yamaha Motor launches a limited GP edition of the Yamaha Y15ZR with Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP livery for Malaysia. The limited-edition Y15ZR’s livery draws inspiration from Monster Energy Yamaha’s MotoGP YZR-M1 machines ridden by Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales.

Powered by a 150cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, mated to a 5-speed gearbox; the limited Y15ZR GP edition pushes 15.15 hp @ 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm  @ 7,000 rpm.

In the case of the suspension, the telescopic forks at the front and mono-shock at the rear take care of the business. As for the wheels and tires; a set of 17-inch blacked-out wheels wrapped around by 90/80 rubber at the front and 120/70 at the rear further enhances the GP look of the bike.

HLYM says the limited Y15ZR GP will be available at all local Yamaha authorized dealers in Malaysia starting Mid-August 2020. Buyers who purchase the Yamaha Y15ZR GP Edition will receive an exclusive certification of ownership along with an exclusive Y15ZR smartwatch set.

The normal Yamaha Y15ZR V2 goes on sale for MYR 8,168 (excluding road tax, insurance and registration). On the other hand, this limited Yamaha Y15ZR GP is priced at RM 8,868  (excluding road tax, insurance and registration). Good buy? Yes! Given this is a limited run model and since Yamaha Y15ZR has a cult following here in Malaysia; this Y15ZR GP would sell out fast! If you are currently looking to buy a Yamaha Y15ZR, we think this GP edition would be a great catch!
