KTM is currently working on a smaller, more affordable KTM 250 Adventure! Here are the specs, pricing and launch details!
The KTM 390 Adventure made its first appearance last year during ECIMA 2019 in Milan. Although KTM took some time to introduce the bike, the arrival of the bike was a piece of good news for everyone. The small 373cc adventure bike from the Austrian brand is already available in some markets, however, emerging reports suggest KTM might be working on an even smaller adventure bike!
Recent spied images from India suggest KTM is working on a smaller 250cc version of the KTM 390 Adventure aka KTM 250 Adventure. Why? it’s because smaller adventure bikes are gaining popularity worldwide, especially in the Asian region.
KTM 250 Adventure Specs
Although specs and details of this bike are limited, for now, we managed to pick up a few things from the spy shots. Just like how the KTM 390 Adventure shares the same powerplant as the 390 Duke, it’s obvious the 250 Adventure would share the 248.8cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine from the Duke 250. This means the KTM 250 Adventure would push around 30 hp and a peak torque of 24 Nm.
Aside from this, reports suggest the KTM 250 Adventure’s 248.8cc engine would be coupled with a 6-speed sequential gearbox (with a bi-directional quick shifter) much like the 390 Adventure. Alongside this, it appears that the KTM 250 Adventure would share the same TFT instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, suspension components and brakes as the bigger sibling, KTM 390 Adventure. Although the 250 Adventure looks much like the 390 Adventure, the only difference we can see is that the 250 Adventure features halogen headlamps, unlike the LED headlamp cluster on the 390.
Well, to make it simpler to understand, KTM’s 390 and 250 Adventure would most likely be specced like the Duke 390 and 250.
KTM 250 Adventure Price
As for the pricing, judging from the pricetag KTM came up with for the KTM 390 Adventure, we believe the 250 Adventure would be priced very close to the 250 Duke. Meaning, the KTM 250 would cost around MYR22,000 – MYR 25,000 mark for Malaysia if it does come to our shores. In the case of the launch, we believe KTM would roll out the 250 Adventure by 2020 for other markets, however as the 390 Adventure isn’t available in Malaysia yet, it makes it impossible to comment on the availability of this bike in Malaysia.
