Didi Resources Sdn Bhd, distributor of Vespa in Malaysia introduces the latest Vespa Racing Sixties Range for the Malaysian Market.

The special Vespa Racing Sixties series includes the Vespa GTS Super and Sprint “Racing Sixties” which draws inspiration from the racing world’s most classic and evocative aesthetics.

“Vespa is one of the most sought-after lifestyle scooters in Malaysia.  The Vespa brand is an expression of a unique and distinctive lifestyle, and its timeless success is tied to its extraordinary history and iconic growth and the 60s were a legendary period in the history of racing. Featured competitions where performance and agility went hand in hand with the class and elegance of the vehicles and riders.”

“It is those elegant sports values that inspire the new Vespa special series, comprising the new Vespa GTS Super 300 and Vespa Sprint 150 “Racing Sixties” “ says Mr Rewi Hamid Bugo, Chairman Didi Resources Sdn Bhd.

The concept is pretty unique, Vespa’s racing Sixties series gets its inspiration from the 60s gentlemen riders races. Back then, riders were able to choose their own team, race and aesthetics of their bike which reflected freedom and autonomy. When it comes to aesthetics, the riders would choose their own colour graphics depending on where they are from, which team they are from or even to pay tribute to brands and sports teams. On top of this, as for the style choices from the colour combo to material and texture, the series echoes memories of legendary circuits such as Monaco or Monza Grand Prix tracks and legendary champions like Targa Florio.

Unique to this series, the new yellow and red graphics with the green and white body colour stands out from the normal Sprint and the GTS. The Racing Sixties Sprint 150 is powered by a 150cc i-get single-cylinder engine. Whereas the GTS Super from the new series is powered by a 278 cc Piaggio HPE single-cylinder engine.  Aside from the unique colour scheme, the new series roll in with an all-new seat, gold rims and matte black details around the bike. Vespa says the yellow and green combo gives more of a classic feel, whereas the second red and white combo offers more of a dynamic, fresh and modern feel.

To go hand in hand with the unique colour scheme, both the Vespa Sprint and GTS Super come in with a variety of style touches; like the matte black passenger grab-handle and footrests, stylish front and rear lights, silencer cover, rearview mirrors, the instrument cluster base and the shield as well as the crest on the front mudguard which blend in with the whole “Racing Sixties” theme.

Aside from this, exclusive for this model; both the GTS and Sprint come in with classic chrome plating and gold metallic rims alongside the new waterproof velvety nubuck soft seat. Vespa says the artisan-style stitching on the seat gets its inspiration from the 1960s sports cars. Alongside the new range of scooters, to complete the special Racing Sixties series, there is a new range of helmets and garments available too!

Price and Availability

The Vespa GTS Super “Racing Sixties” is priced at RM31,400. Whereas the Vespa Sprint “Racing Sixties” is priced at RM19,100. Planning on getting one?
