The latest report suggests KTM’s upcoming electric scooter would be based on the new Bajaj Chetak and here is how the bike could look like!
We all know KTM has been working on expanding their product portfolio for some time now. However, one of the hottest buzzes in the Moto industry is KTM’s upcoming electric scooter and here is a quick update on this project.
KTM E-Speed Concept
To begin with, you might have already come across KTM’s E-Speed concept back in 2013. Following that the KTM E-Speed project was on the verge of coming to reality but Stefan Pierer (CEO of KTM Industries AG) pulled the plug off as he felt that market was not matured enough.
KTM and its electric future
However, it all changed last year when KTM officially announced they would have electric bikes and scooters by the year 2022. 2 more years to go, the latest reports suggest KTM is apparently working on an electric scooter to kickstart their electric journey. Reports also claim the upcoming electric scooter would be based on the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter, which was just launched last year. Aside from this, the latest illustration from Australia’s Motorrad-Magazin gives us a preview of what the upcoming KTM electric scooter could look like.
Looking at the sketch, the bike on the illustration looks a lot like the KTM E-Speed concept from almost 7 years ago. Starting with the sharp edges to eccentric lines, we agree the preview looks tasteful. Aside from this, the orange touches around the bike add the “KTM-ness” to the electric scooter, well, what’s KTM without a bit of orange, right? But the question is, is this anywhere close to the actual scooter?
Husqvarna is likely to join too?
Aside from the latest illustration of the bike, KTM’s sister company; Husquarvana is also expected to roll in with their own electric scooter in the future. As for that case, a preview of their version of the electric has been surfacing the internet too. Also, since Husquarvana and KTM are connected, the upcoming Husquarvana electric would also be based on the Bajaj Chetak.
