The new bike will be based on the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 and is set to launch in a month or two.
It has been going around the motorcycle industry in India that renowned brand Royal Enfield is set to launch an affordable motorcycle soon. The firm has hit some hard times with the drop in sales for the first quarter of the FY 2018-2019. In case you did not know, Royal Enfield is part of the Eicher group. The downfall in sales has contributed to the group’s 7% drop in overall revenue of the same period.
“We will also be introducing new motorcycle variants in the coming months to widen our offering and provide greater accessibility to our discerning customers,” says Vinod Dasari, the company’s newly appointed CEO, as quoted from AutoCarIndia.
The upcoming bike will not feature the new-gen platform but will be based on the current Bullet platform. The price for Royal Enfield’s most affordable models at the moment is Rs 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new bike will come with a simple fuel tank badge. The engine and indicators will feature a black hue. Other mechanicals will remain the same, including the spoked wheels and tubed tyres.
This new bike may come with a price tag of Rs 1.10 lakh to Rs 1.15 lakh. Royal Enfield is likely to launch this new variant within these two months.
