American manufacturer prepares for the future as new documents reveal the arrival of two new motorcycles called Street and Adventure 1200.
Indian Motorcycles is a hot brand right now, and the FTR 1200 increased the interest from motorcyclists in the brand. Now, a set of documents reveal the plans for the next two years. Those plans include two new motorcycles: Street and Adventure.
These new bikes will be using the latest V-Twin 60º liquid cooled engine used on the FTR 1200. That means 120 hp and 115 Nm of torque.
As the names indicate, the Street will be a bike-focused on-road performance and will be naked. The Adventure will allow Indian to enter the big trail segment. But these are just guesses, as the American brand is keeping tight lips on this subject.
These bikes will be two more on the Indian lineup to use a liquid cooled engine. With Euro5 regulations coming into place soon, Indian wants to spread the sales to new segments. And the only way to increase sales outside the USA is to build liquid cooled bikes. That’s especially important in Europe.
Just a few weeks ago we showed you a masked Indian cruiser using a big twin-cylinder liquid cooled engine. This is another example of how Indian is facing the Euro5 regulations, even on their big cruiser models.
