The second MotoGP race of the season in Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina, had an emotive moment. At the podium ceremony, Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez shook hands, with the nine-times World Champion and Yamaha rider recognizing the amazing race that the Honda rider and current MotoGP champion did in Argentina.
That moment was caught on video, and seconds after that, the video went viral with MotoGP fans around the world praising the peace that now seems to exist between two of the greatest riders in this sport.
But the podium ceremony didn’t end well… at least for Marc Marquez.
After the usual champagne shower, and while Valentino Rossi was celebrating with his fans, Marc Marquez was leaving the podium area to go behind and to speak with some journalists.
But with official TV cameras focused on Rossi’s celebration, as the Italian returned to the podium after many races, no one saw Marquez leaving the area. But some Argentinian fans were recording the moment, and that’s when Marquez did a controversial gesture that ignited the social networks becoming a viral video.
As Marquez was leaving, he grabbed his lower parts with both hands, facing some fans.

That gesture wasn’t well accepted by the MotoGP fan community, and since the video was released to the public, they made sure to say that they didn’t like to see Marc Marquez doing that gesture against the fans.
Of course that we can’t be sure what Marc Marquez wanted to do with that controversial gesture, but the reality is that the MotoGP champion did it, and now the fans are even more divided than they were already.
