The new small displacement adventure bike from KTM is reaching the end of the development program as the 390 Adventure is caught testing in India.
KTM doesn’t hide that one of their new models for 2020 is the 390 Adventure, and a new spy shot shows that this new adventure model is almost ready to start production and reach KTM dealerships by the end of 2019 or early 2020.
According to the photo published by Italian website Insella.it, the bike featured in the photo is the final test mule that KTM is using to fine-tune the last details in India, but almost everything seen on the photo will be used on the final production version.
This 100% adventure bike features higher screen for extra wind protection (maybe adjustable in height), the seat is almost flat and high just like a true enduro bike, and according to the same Italian website the instrument panel, besides the usual information, includes an altimeter and a compass so that even when riding off-road the rider knows the right way to the destination.
With a design that mimics the big adventure bikes from KTM, the 390 Duke will use the same single-cylinder engine with 373,2cc displacement, the exact same engine that we already know from the 390 Duke naked bike. That means the 390 Adventure offers 43 hp and 37 Nm of torque.
The suspension is sourced from WP specialists, but the wheel travel will be much bigger than on the 390 Duke to allow the 390 Adventure to be ridden off-road without any problem. With that in mind, KTM also decided to go for mixed tires fitted to cast wheels, while the brakes get ABS as standard with a special off-road mode.
According to the European press, the new KTM 390 Adventure should get a 5700 euros price tag, which translates to something around RM26.687 at current exchange rates.
