Yamaha Motor India has just launched its MT series of naked bikes with the MT-15. This marks another model to the line-up of entry-level sports and performance motorcycles in the country. Campaigned with ‘The Call of the Blue’, the firm noted that the model was aimed at customers within the 20-year-old range who are looking to switch up from their lower-end bikes. The MT range includes the MT-03 and the MT-09 but has not confirmed whether these will be brought into the Indian market. The MT-15 features a liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine is mated to a six-speed transmission system. It also gets single-channel ABS. It is capable of delivering19.3 PS power at 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. “Yamaha will offer three motorcycle series in India under ‘The Call of the Blue’ campaign, the ‘R series’, ‘FZ series’, and the new ‘MT series’. The launch of the new MT-15 will further multiply the brand’s excitement as it would entice customers in exciting, stylish and sporty motorcycling with its unique torque and agility along with design excellence and engineering,” said Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India.
