Jorge Lorenzo World Champions 99 museum is closed

It only survived for two years before closing its doors, as we get word that Jorge Lorenzo World Champions 99 museum is closed. Lorenzo opened the doors to his museum at the end of 2016, in Andorra la Vella, Spain, and now Europa Press says that there’s a sign on the front of the museum with the word “Closed” on it.

There’s no information from Jorge Lorenzo’s management about what happened to his museum, but this was a dream come true for the Spaniard. The World Champions 99 museum was a place where the Repsol Honda rider showed to motorsport fans all the memorabilia he collected over the years, from Formula 1 to MotoGP.

Pieces that once belonged to James Hunt, Ayrton Senna, Sebastian Vettel, or even to Wayne Rainey, Kevin Schwantz, Casey Stoner and also to Valentino Rossi, were on display at the World Champions 99 museum in Andorra.

This museum wasn’t only a 400 square meter space dedicated to memorabilia. It also contained an area dedicated to racing simulators, a podium for visitors to take a photo, and a merchandise area so that visitors could take home something to remember Jorge Lorenzo.

Marked on TripAdvisor with four out of five stars, World Champions 99 museum isn’t opened to the public anymore, and it’s one place motorsport fans can’t visit anymore. Maybe the MotoGP rider decided to change its location to somewhere else, since the Andorra government has their sights on Jorge Lorenzo’s financial conduct due to taxes.
