This is how the new BMW S1000RR might look with colored fairings

This is how the new BMW S1000RR might look with colored fairings

It was just a few weeks ago that we’ve showed you the first photo of what is the new S1000RR, with the Chinese patent department allowing the bike to be seen before its official reveal at the Cologne motorcycle show, INTERMOT, by making public the patent fillings.

The new superbike from BMW Motorrad hasn’t shown its face officially, but thanks to Julak Sendie Design and American website Asphalt and Rubber, we’ve got some images that show how the S1000RR might look like with its fairings covered in colour.

Using the same paint schemes and colours we already know from the current S1000RR, we now have a better idea of how the bike will look like, and even though these are just computer generated paint schemes, the actual bike should look very similar.

Technical information regarding the next-gen S1000RR isn’t much. Rumours point to the fact that BMW has completely reworked the four-cylinder engine to bring it up to spec with other powerful rivals, and we’re expecting a peak power of somewhere between 205 to 215 hp, the same figure of the top-spec HP4 Race.

It will also be interesting to see if BMW Motorrad has opted to use a counter-rotating crankshaft, a solution used mainly in MotoGP, which brings benefits in acceleration because it helps to keep the front wheel down on the asphalt while accelerating hard out of corners.

The wait to see the new BMW S1000RR is almost over, and be sure to follow iMotorbike to get all the latest information about new models from BMW and all other motorcycle brands.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
