MotoE – First rider announced by Dynavolt Intact GP

MotoE – First rider announced by Dynavolt Intact GP

Next season we will witness the start of a new era in the World Championship, as the FIM MotoE World Cup gets ready for its maiden season. We already know when and where the five rounds of this electric motorcycle competition will take place, and now it’s time to know the first rider!

Moto2 team Dynavolt Intact GP has confirmed the signing of Swiss rider Jesko Raffin to compete in MotoE World Cup.

“Right from the start, when we heard about this championship for the first time, we wanted to hire a top rider for this MotoE World Cup,” team manager Jurgen Lingg said. “Therefore we are very happy that we could reach an agreement with Jesko Raffin. Jesko fits perfectly into our Intact GP family! We are very happy about it and are very excited about the coming season”.

For Jesko Raffin, this is a second chance to get the results in World Championship level, even if it is in the electric motorcycle class. Jesko had a go as a full-time Moto2 rider until he was dropped by his team due to the lack of results.

The Swiss rider returned this season to the Spanish championship CEV, where he already was crowned champion in 2014, and is now leading the Moto2 class and with great chances to get the title

“It’s a great opportunity to start for such a professional team,” said Raffin. “I am very grateful that I get this chance and that they believe in me. My motivation is huge because it is a new championship. And it’s not just a new series for the moment, it’s also the future. Of course, it’s difficult to estimate what we can expect next year because it’s new for everyone and everyone will be sitting on the same bikes. The rider will finally be the benchmark”.

In the next few days we expect to see more confirmations as to who will be riding the Energica Ego GP racing bikes in 2019. So stay tuned to iMotorbike and get all the details and updates on the FIM MotoE World Cup!

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
