Kawawsaki’s very own Team 38 racing team and the Ninja H2 will be challenging speed in The Bonneville Salt Flats International Speedway on August 11th to the 18th. The team, based in Japan, is attempting to create history by setting a new world record in an undisclosed category.
Speed enthusiasts worldwide will be joining this pursuit of the new title. In tandem with that, Kawasaki has released a teaser video of its attempt this year.
Two years ago, the team managed to cap a great 220 mph and this time, they aim to achieve more. Senior rider Shigeru Yamashita will be taking on the “specially prepared” Ninja H2 instead of the H2R.
The bike features an inline-4 998cc mill that is capable of producing 207 hp and 98.5 pound-feet of torque with the supercharger producing 20.5 PSI of boost under the hood. Details of the specifics of the H2 is rather scarce but will be updated as soon as possible.
