In case you missed out, Bajaj Auto will be coming out with its new Platina 125 and Pulsar 125 as an addition to their entry level bikes this year. The main aim of these launches is to improve market share, in which they have set a target of 20% market share this fiscal year.
Not to mention, they have a long term goal of further expanding it to 25% and wants to improve its entry level share from 33% to 45% in years to come. Apart from that, Bajaj has recently reduced the price of the Platina 100 and has become the cheapest motorcycle in India. Such has boosted the sales to 50,000 units.
The firm has set sights on launching new bikes for the 110-125cc segments. The engine is assumed to be a 124.6cc four-valve single cylinder engine twin spark engine from Discover 123 ST producing 13bhp or power at 9,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Fuel efficiency is the focus of the Platina 125 and is a slightly premium bike. According to Rajiv Bajaj, there will not be any price cuts soon. But as for now, we cannot wait to see what Bajaj has to offer.
