Pikes Peak Hill Climb is better known for the unrestricted vehicles that compete there, and in case of motorcycles, the best of the best race in the Heavyweight class which saw Carlin Dunne take the title back for Ducati onboard his Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak Edition.
But there’s also other classes, and in this case, in the Middleweight class, the winner was Chris Fillmore on a KTM 790 Duke.
Even if he was only racing a middleweight bike against the more powerful heavyweights in Pikes Peak, Chris Fillmore pushed the limits of the newest addition to the KTM Duke family, and the 790 climbed up the mountain in 10m04.038s.
Not only he won the class, but he also got into the overall podium, finishing this year’s event in third!
Chris Fillmore now has his name in the record books by setting the new record time at Pikes Peak Hill Climn in the middleweight class, adding that to the record he set in 2017, and still holds, also on a KTM bike, in the heavyweight class.
