The Renard GT: a dream roadster made with carbon fiber, kevlar and machined aluminium

We all know that bespoke motorcycles are special, but Estonian brand Renard has taken the bespoke motorcycles to an all new level with the creation of a customized roadster dubbed Renard GT.

Renard was a manufacturer of small-displacement bikes until the II World War, when their factory was destroyed by bombardments in March 1944. Now, Renard was brought back to life by Andres Uibomae, and the Renard GT certainly makes an impact!

This roadster has the engine of a Moto Guzzi Griso, a V-twin unit bored to reach 1326 cc and that is now capable of pumping out 123 hp and a massive torque of 134 Nm at 5600 rpm. The engine receives a custom made exhaust system with the silencers hidden under the engine, and the engine itself is fitted inside a monocoque frame.

That frame, although generous in dimensions, is made in carbon fiber and reinforced in Kevlar for added stiffness and to give a precise handling to the Renard GT which weighs just 170 kg dry. The frame weighs just 9 kg!

The Hossack front fork is matched with a Öhlins damper, and Öhlins also supplied the TTX36 shock installed in the back of the GT. Carbon fiber was also used on the bespoke 17-inch wheels, while other parts of the bike are made with machined aluminium for added resistance and also to give the Renard GT that special handmade look.

With a max speed of around 250 km/h, the Renard GT is surely a bike to have, even if only in our dreams, because Renard will only produce the GT once you pay 49.000 euros (around RM230.000) and it will take 4 to 5 months to complete the bike and deliver it to you.
