During the annual Audi AG press conference held at the Audi AG headquarters in Ingolstadt, Ducati Motor Holding showed its results of 2017, and the news coming from the Italian motorcycle manufacturer are very positive.

According to the financial press release, Ducati closed last year selling a total of 55.871 motorcycles worldwide, which represents an increase in sales of 0,8% compared to 2016 and extends the trend of constant growth for Ducati over the last eight years.

By the end of 2017, Ducati managed to reach a turnover of 736 million euros (which is something around RM3,537,588,179.51 at current exchange rate) and with these figures the Bologna based manufacturer managed to increase sales by nearly 30% over the last five years. The operating result was 51 million euros (RM245,154,621.95), the same as in 2016, with an operating margin of 7%.

These results seem to impress Claudio Domenicali, Ducati Motor Holding CEO, given the fact that his brand invested a lot of resources and money into the development of big projects like the Panigale V4, and expanded the Scrambler family with the arrival of the 1100 cc version, not to mention the enormous effort Ducati is making in racing series like MotoGP and World Superbike.

This is what Claudio Domenicali had to say about the financial results of Ducati in 2017

“This strong performance confirms the soundness of the product development strategy undertaken in recent years. In 2017 we laid the foundations for further, future development of the company. Furthermore, we presented the Panigale V4, the first Ducati factory bike to mount a 4-cylinder engine, the outcome of the biggest investment Ducati has ever channelled into a single product. 2017 also saw further development of the Scrambler range. At EICMA the Scrambler brand presented the first completely new bike since its founding: the Scrambler 1100, which adds an all-new dimension to the Ducati Scrambler world by injecting big-bike technology, performance and ultra-high quality finishing”.

Last but not least, it’s worth mentioning that Ducati has at this time a total of 1.570 employees, and the Ducati sales network has 780 dealerships in over 90 countries.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
