Öhlins has officially announced the Asia-wide availability of its latest STX 36 rear suspension upgrades designed specifically for Royal Enfield’s popular 650 platform.

The new high-performance twin shock applications are engineered for the Royal Enfield Bear 650, Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 and Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, three models that continue to gain traction among retro and mid-capacity motorcycle enthusiasts across Asia.

Bridging Retro Style with Racing Technology

As Royal Enfield expands its mid-sized modern-classic lineup, Öhlins has responded with precision-built suspension solutions aimed at elevating handling, stability and ride comfort.

The STX 36 twin shock setup combines Öhlins’ racing DNA with a design that respects Royal Enfield’s timeless aesthetic. Each unit is instantly recognisable by the brand’s signature golden piggyback reservoir, paired with contrasting black springs for a refined “Golden Age” look that blends seamlessly with the rugged retro styling of the 650 range. The result is a premium upgrade that enhances both performance and visual appeal.

Fully Adjustable for Personalised Setup

Beyond aesthetics, the RE 539, RE 506 and RE 505 shock absorbers offer comprehensive adjustability, giving riders professional-level tuning capability.

All three units feature full adjustment in:

  • Compression damping – to fine-tune how the suspension absorbs initial bump force
  • Rebound damping – controlling how quickly the shock returns after compression, maintaining tyre contact
  • Spring preload – adjustable to suit rider weight, luggage or pillion use

This level of tuning allows owners to tailor their bike’s setup whether for daily commuting, long-distance touring or spirited weekend rides.

Availability in Asia

The Öhlins RE 539, RE 506 and RE 505 suspension upgrades are now available through authorised Öhlins dealers throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

With Royal Enfield’s 650cc twins becoming increasingly popular in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia, the introduction of STX 36 applications provides owners with a premium aftermarket option to significantly improve ride dynamics without compromising the bikes’ classic character.

For riders looking to elevate their Royal Enfield experience, Öhlins’ latest suspension offering delivers a blend of heritage styling and world-class engineering.
