Hero MotoCorp is preparing to broaden its electric two-wheeler lineup with a new electric motorcycle under its EV brand, Vida. Known as the Vida VXZ, the model was first unveiled at EICMA 2025 and has now taken a key step closer to production following the filing of a design patent in India.
Co-developed with Zero Motorcycles, the Vida VXZ signals Hero’s intention to move beyond electric scooters and into the performance-oriented electric motorcycle space.
Patent images reveal a sporty, streetfighter-inspired design with a pronounced mass-forward stance. The VXZ features a hunched riding posture, sharp tank extensions and a compact, upswept tail section with a split-seat layout. While it resembles a conventional fuel tank, we can expect the tank-like structure to house storage or charging-related components.
The motorcycle appears to use a partially exposed tubular trellis frame, complemented by upside-down front forks and a centrally mounted rear monoshock. Braking hardware consists of disc brakes at both ends, reinforcing the VXZ’s sporty positioning. Design details include a sharp LED headlamp, a fully digital instrument cluster and a small semi-fairing that adds visual aggression without full bodywork.
The Vida VXZ features a centrally mounted battery pack integrated into the frame. Hero MotoCorp has yet to disclose performance figures or range details. We can expect the company to reveal these specifications closer to launch. The patent drawings also show a saree guard, indicating that Hero MotoCorp designed the VXZ to comply with Indian market regulations and everyday usage requirements.
With the design now protected, anticipation is building that Hero MotoCorp will share further technical and launch details in the coming months. If positioned competitively, the Vida VXZ could mark a significant milestone for Hero’s electric ambitions, bringing a mainstream, India-focused electric motorcycle to a rapidly evolving segment.
