BMW Motorrad has continued its strong global momentum, delivering 202,563 motorcycles and scooters worldwide in 2025, marking the fourth consecutive year the German manufacturer has surpassed the 200,000-unit milestone.

The achievement comes despite a challenging global market for premium motorcycles above 500cc, which faced headwinds from fluctuating trade conditions, aggressive pricing competition, tightening regulations and new customs rules in key regions. Even so, BMW Motorrad closed out the year on a high, recording 15,109 deliveries in December 2025 alone, a robust finish that underlined sustained demand for its products.

Several markets posted their best-ever annual sales results, including Italy, Spain, Japan, Australia, Portugal, Canada, Malaysia and the Netherlands. While BMW Motorrad did not disclose exact figures for Malaysia, China emerged as a major contributor to global sales with 10,555 units sold.

North and South America remained strategically important for the brand. In the United States, BMW Motorrad delivered 14,869 motorcycles despite ongoing political and economic uncertainty, while Brazil registered the second-highest volume in the region with 14,488 units.

Within Europe, BMW’s home market of Germany led global sales with 25,516 motorcycles delivered, the highest figure worldwide. France followed with 19,019 units, Italy recorded 16,692, and Spain saw 14,005 BMW motorcycles leave dealerships.

Product-wise, BMW’s latest generation of “R” models played a central role in driving growth, with strong interest in the R 1300 RT, R 1300 R and R 1300 RS. However, the standout performer of 2025 was the R 1300 GS and its Adventure variant, which continued to dominate the adventure-touring segment.

The R 1300 GS Adventure led the charge with 33,570 units sold, while the standard R 1300 GS accounted for 32,555 deliveries. The S 1000 RR superbike also performed strongly, contributing 11,643 units to the year’s tally.

Overall, BMW’s four-cylinder range recorded 20,859 sales, with a further 7,549 coming from the high-performance M-series (M 1000 R, M 1000 RR and M 1000 XR), bringing total four-cylinder sales to 28,408 units.

BMW Motorrad also saw solid demand in its mid-range lineup, particularly for the F 800 GS, F 900 R and F 900 GS. Meanwhile, its scooter portfolio, including the C 400 GT, C 400 X, and electric CE02 and CE04 models, reached 18,400 units sold.

With another year above 200,000 units and record-breaking performances in multiple markets, BMW Motorrad enters 2026 in a position of strength, reinforcing its status as one of the world’s leading premium motorcycle manufacturers.
