The 2025 MotoGP World Championship drew to a close at Valencia’s iconic Circuito Ricardo Tormo, where the Ducati Lenovo Team experienced a bittersweet finale. Nicolò Bulega brought home a single point in fifteenth position, while teammate Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia was forced into an early retirement following a first-lap collision.

Bulega Closes His Rookie Campaign With Points

After an encouraging eleventh place in the morning warm-up, Bulega entered the race weekend aiming to consolidate his progress. A difficult getaway complicated his opening laps, as he ran with a lowered front fork until turn five. From there, grip issues, particularly at the rear and under acceleration, hindered his pace.

Despite the setbacks, the Italian rookie persevered and secured fifteenth at the flag, capping off a valuable learning experience in his late-season debut.

Bagnaia’s Race Ends Early After Turn 4 Collision

Bagnaia launched strongly from row six, slicing through the pack to climb from sixteenth to tenth in just a few corners. His momentum, however, came to a sudden halt at turn four. A close-quarters skirmish caused Pecco to run wide and crash, ending his final race of 2025 within minutes of the start.

The reigning two-time World Champion escaped injury despite a heavy impact.

“These things happen,” Bagnaia said. “The important thing is that I’m OK. I felt good at the start and gained six positions, but then the incident happened. It’s been a tough season, so now the focus is on Tuesday’s test and preparing the foundations for 2026.”

Championship Wrap: Marquez Crowned, Ducati Takes Triple Crown

Valencia marked the culmination of a dramatic season that saw Marc Márquez clinch the World Championship, while Bagnaia secured fifth in the final standings.

Despite mixed fortunes in the final race, Ducati once again celebrated a remarkable “Triple Crown”:

  • Teams’ Championship – Ducati Lenovo Team
  • Constructors’ Championship – Ducati
  • MotoGP World Champion – Marc Márquez (Gresini Ducati)

Looking Ahead: 2026 Begins Tuesday

The Ducati Lenovo Team returns to action immediately, with the first official test for the 2026 season scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th, at the same Valencia circuit. Both riders aim to lay the groundwork for a stronger campaign, with development focus now shifting toward next year’s Desmosedici.

As the sun sets on 2025, Ducati leaves Valencia proud of its achievements and eager to return stronger when the grid reforms for 2026.
