If you’ve made the switch to an electric vehicle, congratulations, you’re already doing your part for a cleaner, greener planet. But what if your eco-friendly choice could also put some extra cash back in your pocket?

That’s exactly what Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad is offering with its brand-new Allianz EV EcoMiles benefit: a first-of-its-kind programme that literally pays you for driving less.

Cash rewards for low-mileage users

Under the EcoMiles programme, Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) users insured under an Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy can get up to 15% cashback on their insurance premium, just for keeping their mileage low.

The idea is simple: if you’re a low-mileage user, such as someone who works from home or mostly uses your car on weekends, you’ll use less energy and produce fewer emissions. Allianz wants to reward that.

“With Allianz EV EcoMiles, we’re recognising our customers’ green habits and turning them into real rewards,” said Sean Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz General. “Driving a BEV is already one step towards reducing carbon emissions now, even your low-mileage lifestyle gets rewarded too.”

How it works

It’s straightforward and hassle-free:

  1. Activate the EV EcoMiles benefit via the MyAllianz app within 30 days of your policy start date.
  2. At the end of your policy period, submit your odometer reading and car photos in the app (within 14 days before or after your policy expires).
  3. Once approved, your cash reward will be credited directly to your account.

The cashback depends on how much mileage you accumulate each year:

  • Up to 10,000 km per year – you’ll get 15% cashback on your net basic premium (after the No Claim Discount).
  • 10,001–15,000 km per year – you’ll still enjoy 10% cashback.

That means if your premium is RM3,000, you could get as much as RM450 back just for being a mindful road user.

A little extra for early birds

As a bonus, Allianz is also giving away RM100 worth of EV charging credits (free!) to customers who insure their BEVs between 29 September and 31 October 2025, activate the EcoMiles benefit within 30 days, and provide valid contact details.

Allianz will email you a redemption code, which you can redeem through the ChargEV app by Yinson Greentech to top up your car’s charge at any participating station.

Encouraging sustainable habits

Allianz General says the new benefit reflects its commitment to helping Malaysians adopt more sustainable lifestyles.

“We want to make it easier and more rewarding for our customers to do the right thing for the environment,” said Sean. “EcoMiles gives them a tangible incentive to drive less and make smarter, greener choices.”

With this new initiative, Allianz General is proving that protecting the planet can be rewarding, literally. So if you’ve gone electric, you can now enjoy the peace of mind of comprehensive coverage and the satisfaction of being paid for your green habits.
