BMW Motorrad Motorsport is actively scouting for a new rider to replace Toprak Razgatlioglu in the 2026 World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK), following the Turkish star’s high-profile move to MotoGP with Pramac Yamaha next year.

Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, Sven Blusch, confirmed that the brand is currently assessing talent from across the racing spectrum, including seasoned MotoGP competitors and rising stars in the Moto2 paddock.

“We are looking at all the rider markets at the moment. The competition in WSBK is important, but we are also looking at the MotoGP paddock,” Blusch said. “I think it will take another two to three weeks to get a real picture of who is the right fit.”

One of the top candidates currently under consideration is Aron Canet, who sits second in the 2025 Moto2 World Championship standings, just nine points behind leader Manuel Gonzalez. BMW is also believed to be keeping tabs on other Moto2 riders who may miss out on MotoGP seats next year.

“We are considering experienced MotoGP riders and also young riders from Moto2 who may not be going to MotoGP. However, I understand how high the level of WorldSBK is,” Blusch added. “I think Toprak’s move to MotoGP proves the quality of the riders here, including the Moto2 riders.”

Meanwhile, the future of current BMW rider Michael van der Mark remains uncertain. It is unclear whether the Dutchman will retain his place or make way for a new signing.

Two other names reportedly on BMW’s radar are Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira, both currently with Pramac Yamaha and facing uncertain futures in MotoGP amid Toprak’s impending arrival.

BMW is expected to finalize its 2026 rider lineup in the coming weeks as the transfer market intensifies during the midseason break.
