If you thought retro helmets couldn’t evolve without losing their charm, Shoei just proved you wrong. Meet the J.O2, the long-awaited follow-up to the iconic J.O open-face helmet that’s been turning heads since 2015. And no, it’s not just a visual update. The J.O2 retains the vintage soul but incorporates real, rider-focused upgrades where it matters most: safety, comfort, and versatility.

Still Stylish, But Now Smarter

The original J.O helmet earned a loyal following for its minimalist, neo-classic vibe. Shoei wisely didn’t mess with a good thing. The J.O2 looks just as effortlessly cool, with clean lines and that timeless silhouette but this time, it’s been updated to meet ECE 22.06 standards, which is the latest in helmet safety certification across Europe.

In short: it still looks like a rockstar helmet, but now with the kind of safety tech you want between your head and the tarmac.

Big Features in a Low-Key Package

Shoei has added subtle but smart updates that riders will appreciate on the road. The three front rivets are more than just a styling throwback, they’re a functional response to rider feedback, now making it easier to attach peaks or bubble visors. And yes, they look damn good, too.

Then there’s the CJ-4 retractable visor system, a slick built-in shield you can slide down to block wind and glare, or hide away to embrace the full open-face experience. Shoei even gives you six visor lens options, including a photochromatic one that adjusts to sunlight, so you’re ready for any ride, any time.

Inside, It’s All About You

Comfort isn’t an afterthought here. The J.O2’s removable interior is made of plush, breathable materials, perfect for sweaty commutes or long summer cruises. Plus, the helmet includes eyeglass channels and optional fit pads for those who want a snug, tailored fit. Shoei also supports its PFS (Personalised Fitting System), available at selected dealers if you want pro-level fitting precision.

And it’s built tough. The shell is made with Shoei’s AIM (Advanced Integrated Matrix) for durability without bulk, and the multi-density EPS liner adds impact protection while keeping weight down. The double D-ring fastener keeps it all secure — classic, reliable, and track-approved.

Shoei: When and Where?

The Shoei J.O2 will hit stores this August, with graphics following in September. Prices start from £349.99 (approx. RM2,100.00), which is a solid value considering the premium build, safety certification, and that unmistakable Shoei heritage.
