VR46 Team Unveils Special Livery Inspired by Music

VR46 Ducati riders Franco Morbidelli and Fabio di Giannantonio will race in special livery on Sunday’s home Italian Grand Prix at Mugello.

The worlds of MotoGP and music collide this weekend as the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team introduces a stunning new livery for the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, inspired by Italian music icon Cesare Cremonini. Riders Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio will hit the track on Sunday aboard Ducati Desmosedici GP bikes dressed in a special “Cremonini Live 25” color scheme. 

The striking design, featuring hues of light purple and icy blue, draws directly from the visual themes of Cremonini’s latest album, Alaska Baby. The transformation of the VR46 bikes into shimmering, aurora-like machines is the creative work of renowned designer Aldo Drudi, who brought the northern lights concept to life on the race machines.

This creative fusion is rooted in a decades-long friendship between Cremonini, MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, and VR46 Team Director Alessio “Uccio” Salucci. “We’ve known Cesare for 20 years,” said Rossi. “As we grew closer, the idea of merging MotoGP and music came naturally. We wanted to do something different for our home GP, and this livery is the perfect tribute to that bond. Aldo Drudi managed to capture the album’s energy perfectly, it’s something beautiful.”

For this round at Mugello, the traditional fluorescent yellow colors of the VR46 team will be replaced with the exclusive Cremonini Live 25 scheme. Team staff will also don custom gear including Kappa polo shirts, Refrigiwear vests, and Oakley sunglasses, all color-matched to the special bikes.

The collaboration goes beyond the racing circuit. In a unique crossover moment, a Ducati in the same livery will appear on stage during Cremonini’s Cremonini Live 25 concerts at Bologna’s Dall’Ara Stadium on June 19 and 20. It’s a fitting celebration of both the artist’s milestone tour and the enduring camaraderie between motorsport and music.

This special initiative symbolizes the harmony between speed and emotion, mechanics and melody, two art forms united by passion and precision.
