In a move that signals just how serious the electric two-wheeler game is getting in China, Wuyang Honda has launched its first electric motorcycle – the E-VO. But don’t mistake this for just another eco-commuter. With its retro café racer silhouette and surprisingly loaded feature list, the E-VO feels like a love letter to style-conscious city riders who demand more than just efficiency.

Designed for the Street, Built for the City

At first glance, the E-VO wears its heritage proudly. Classic café racer lines meet minimalist modern details. But beneath the vintage-inspired bodywork lies a machine engineered for today’s tech-savvy urbanite. It’s fast, practical, and plugged into the modern world—quite literally.

Wuyang Honda is offering the E-VO in two configurations:

  • A dual-battery 4.1 kWh setup offering up to 120 km of range,
  • And a beefier triple-battery 6.2 kWh version that stretches the range to 170 km.

Both can be charged via regular domestic sockets or a car charger, with the fastest time (on the smaller pack) clocking in at just 60 minutes.

Punchy Power, Sensible Speed

The numbers won’t scare a petrolhead, but they will impress a commuter. The electric motor peaks at 15.53 kW (21.5 hp) and tops out at a governed 120 km/h—more than enough to rule urban roads and slip into short highway stints.

Weights vary between 143 kg and 156 kg, depending on the battery pack. However, both versions sit low with a seat height of 765 mm, making them accessible to a wide range of riders. With telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear, it’s a solid package aimed at comfort and agility rather than track-day thrills.

Tech That Talks Back

This is where the E-VO truly separates itself from the pack. At the heart of the cockpit is a 7-inch TFT screen, not just showing speed and battery level but also offering navigation, music control, tire pressure monitoring, and even DJI camera connectivity. Yes, the E-VO is built to sync with your tech life.

Need more? The 6.2 kWh version comes with front and rear DVR cameras and foot-mounted cams. The base model still gives you a forward-facing camera, ideal for traffic recording or content creation on the go. Keyless unlock adds a layer of convenience expected from cars, not bikes.

Why This Matters

The E-VO isn’t designed for global conquest—at least not yet. Wuyang Honda has kept its ambitions domestic for now, focusing squarely on the fast-evolving Chinese electric motorcycle market. But if this bike is anything to go by, Honda’s Chinese arm is thinking far beyond scooters and step-throughs.

It’s more than a commuter. It’s a statement: electric motorcycles can be bold, beautiful, and brimming with personality even when they’re designed for the everyday grind.
