The Horizon Beranang Circuit was excited as Round 2 of the FIM MiniGP Malaysia Series 2025 and the RCB MiniMoto Championship delivered thrilling racing action under scorching track temperatures exceeding 50°C. The dry conditions proved ideal, allowing riders to push their limits without concerns over grip.

SIC Ohvale Junior Championship: Firash Claims Double, International Rivals Join Podium

The day kicked off with a strong showing in qualifying where Safiuddin Shaharizan secured pole position with an impressive lap time of 51.017s. Despite international riders from Indonesia and China being absent this round, 13 competitors took to the grid.

Race 1 saw Firash Naufal overcome a strong start by Safiuddin to clinch victory, with Indonesian rider Arby Thoriq joining them on the podium. In Race 2, Firash extended his dominance, while Aqeef Darwish emerged as the runner-up ahead of Arby, who completed the podium once again.

FIM MiniGP 160cc: Qasha and Al-Adam in Fierce Duel

Qasha Irfan dominated Saturday’s practice with a fastest time of 48.509s, which he bettered in Sunday’s qualifying to 48.356s. However, in Race 1, Al-Adam Mikael played his strategy perfectly—shadowing Qasha before making a decisive move to secure his first win in the 160cc category. Qasha settled for second while Rayqarl Alhayy took third.

Race 2 in the afternoon saw a tight three-way battle between Qasha, Al-Adam, and Nufayl Darwisy. Qasha, determined not to repeat the earlier result, held off all advances to reclaim the top step. Al-Adam and Nufayl completed the podium in second and third, respectively.

FIM MiniGP 190cc: Qabil Irfan Untouchable

In the 190cc class, Qabil Irfan was in a league of his own. After topping all four Saturday practice sessions with a best time of 46.450s, he slightly improved to 46.423s during qualifying. In both races, Qabil led from start to finish, unchallenged thanks to his consistent sub-47s pace.

Drama unfolded when Airel Marzuki, a strong podium contender, crashed at Turn 1 during Race 1. The podium featured Qabil in first, followed by Qayyim Razin and Adam Aiman. Race 2 saw a tight scrap between Qayyim and Airel until a minor collision allowed others to close in. Qabil again took the win, with Qayyim and Adam repeating their podium finishes.

RCB MiniMoto Championship: Adra Mikayla Steals the Show

The newly introduced RCB MiniMoto Championship continued to build momentum after its Sepang debut. Sixteen young riders, including standout female racer Adra Mikayla, took part in the Beranang round to much fanfare and cheers from supporters.

Fayyadh Anaqi topped qualifying with a 57.647s lap but faced a determined Mikayla in Race 1. She patiently stalked her rival before overtaking him to take an emphatic victory. Fayyadh finished second, and Wan Haqim Al Mahdi rounded off the podium.

In Race 2, Fayyadh returned with a vengeance, engaging in a thrilling duel with Mikayla. The two traded places in an intense battle, but Fayyadh ultimately reclaimed the lead and held on to win. Raqib Rozman took third.

What’s Next?

The FIM MiniGP Malaysia Series continues with Round 3 scheduled for 26 & 27 July 2025 at the Tangkak Racing Circuit in Johor. With rising talents and fierce rivalries already forming, the championship promises even more action as the season unfolds.
