MiniGP Malaysia Series Heats Up at Horizon Circuit

Round 2 of the FIM MiniGP Malaysia Series returns to Horizon Circuit with fierce racing and new talent development programs.

Young riders and emerging talents will ignite the Horizon Circuit in Beranang on 24–25 May 2025 as the FIM MiniGP Malaysia Series enters its second round with heightened intensity across all categories.

In the first round held at Rud Karting in Sepang, the MiniGP Malaysia 190 category saw Qabil Irfan dominate by winning both races on Sunday, earning maximum points. In the MiniGP Malaysia 160 class, two standout riders—Qasha Irfan and Al-Adam Mikail—ended the round with only a single point separating them.

The SIC Ohvale Championship 110 category saw limited impact from local riders, with the overall standings led by competitors from Indonesia and China. Indonesian riders Arby Thoriq and Alvin Keanu both scored 45 points to top the standings, while Chinese riders filled the third to fifth positions.

In response, ZK Racing and RCB introduced a new talent development category—RCB MiniMoto Championship—aimed at discovering quality new riders before they move into the 110cc class. Fayyadh Anaqi clinched victory in Race 1 of the first round, while organisers cancelled Race 2 due to weather.

Strong interest prompted ZK Racing to hold an Additional Selection Session for the RCB MiniMoto Championship on 11 May at Horizon Circuit. They had previously selected 13 participants during the first round and have now expanded the starting grid to 18 riders. In the recent session, they shortlisted 5 out of 8 riders—including one female rider—marking a positive step toward encouraging greater female participation in motorsports.

Race 3 and Race 4 of the FIM MiniGP Malaysia Series promise to deliver even more thrilling action. The Horizon Circuit features 13 corners—6 left and 7 right—with a total length of 910 meters, demanding both skill and precision from every rider.

Adding value to the weekend, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), through Rakan Muda, will run a special program called MotoClinic: Ride, Learn & Discover. The first 30 participants will receive hands-on exposure to safe riding techniques and comprehensive motorcycle maintenance.

The organisers will hold the program on Saturday, 24 May at 2 PM at Horizon Circuit. It includes a one-hour class with Malaysian Moto3 veteran Zulfahmi Khairuddin, practical riding sessions, career insights, and behind-the-scenes access to how motorcycle races are organized. Participation is free and open to all.
