KTM is launching a revolutionary motorcycle for the 2025 model year. This bike will feature radar-guided safety systems designed to protect riders. At the heart of this innovation is Bosch’s second-generation Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS). The system includes six new features aimed at enhancing both safety and convenience.
The new tech will debut on KTM’s Super Adventure model. It’s likely built on a 1390 platform with a clutchless semi-automatic gearbox. These features are designed to protect riders without compromising the thrill of the ride.
Six New Safety Features
One of the standout features is Adaptive Cruise Control – Stop and Go. This system keeps the bike a safe distance from slower vehicles ahead. If necessary, it can bring the bike to a full stop. This works perfectly with clutchless bikes, allowing for smooth restarting.
Another feature is Emergency Brake Assist, which increases brake pressure when you hit the brakes. It helps reduce speed quickly in emergencies. The system activates only when the rider has already begun braking. It enhances safety without interfering with rider control.
To deal with tailgaters, KTM offers two features:
- Rear Distance Warning displays a warning when a vehicle is too close.
- Rear Collision Warning automatically activates hazard lights to alert the vehicle behind.
For situations when the rider is following too closely, Riding Distance Assist takes action. It decelerates and applies brakes if the bike gets too close to a vehicle ahead. Riders can override this system by twisting the throttle.
Group Ride Assist maintains your position within a staggered formation for group rides. This is perfect for cruising in packs. It doesn’t require the lead rider to stick to the middle of the lane.
Expanding Safety Features with KTM
KTM has been using radar-assisted safety on high-end bikes for some time now. Other brands like Ducati are doing the same. Bosch hopes these new features will soon be available on other models. As demand grows, Bosch plans to create cheaper sensors. This will make the technology available to more riders.
With KTM’s 2025 Super Adventure, the future of safe riding looks bright. The motorcycle industry is moving towards radar-guided safety becoming standard. These features promise to make riding not just thrilling, but much safer.
