After almost a year of waiting, Honda has finally unveiled the all-new Honda Hornet 750 at the Intermot motorcycle show held in Cologne, Germany.

After several concept sketches that were previously published including a ‘render’ image shared by publications in Japan, the Honda Hornet 750 has finally been officially presented.

Featuring a brand new design from Honda R&D Europe based in Italy, the Hornet 750 offers elements of a ‘streetfighter’ motorcycle with an aggressive design.

The Honda Hornet 750 is powered by a parallel-twin 755cc 8-valve engine with liquid cooling and features a Unicam system and a ‘270-degree crank’.

Interestingly, the cylinder part of the engine has been coated with a ‘nickel-silicon carbide’ type material that was previously used on the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and CRF450R.

Honda claims the engine is capable of producing 92hp at 9,500rpm and 75Nm at 7,250rpm. Engine power is then channelled to a 6-speed transmission and assisted by an ‘assist/slipper’ clutch.According to Honda, the Hornet 750 can reach a maximum speed of 205km/h.

The engine is housed in a ‘steel-diamond’ type chassis that was developed brand new by Honda. Interestingly, the frame only weighs 16.6kg, lighter than the CB650R frame (18.5kg).

Meanwhile, the suspension part is controlled by a Showa SFF-BP 41mm front fork that offers 130mm of travel. The rear comes with a ‘monoshock’ with a Pro-Link swingarm that offers 150mm of movement.
