A special operation will be carried out to catch illegally modified motorcycles in Malaysia. This operation will be carried out very soon so take note folks!
Inspector-General, Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador told the press that a special operation will be conducted by JSPT (Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador) to single out illegally modified motorcycles in Malaysia. Illegally modified motorcycles, especially with their loud exhaust cause public nuisance and Malaysian police is now stepping up to conduct a large scale operation to ensure these riders are penalised.
“Many people complained that these motorcyclists are causing disturbances, especially with their noisy exhausts.”
“These same riders are also disrupting regular traffic when they travel in groups; enough is enough for those who rev the engines of their modified motorcycles, especially in the mornings and disturb the peace.”
“Modified motorcycles may be seized, and they must be restored to their original condition;” said Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador in an interview on Wednesday.
We are not quite sure the extent of modification that is illegal. For example, what if you have a motorcycle that comes with an aftermarket exhaust or other aftermarket performance parts straight from the factory? We hope this wouldn’t be a problem.
Remember to always follow traffic rules and think of others around you when you are on the road!
