Didi Resources Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Vespa brand just launched the Vespa GTS300 HPE Super Tech earlier today. The Vespa GTS 300 Super Tech HPE is the high-tech version of the Vespa GTS range. The GTS Super Tech comes equipped with a full-colour TFT instrument cluster and an integrated navigation system. Besides this, the GTS 300 Super Tech is powered by Vespa’s new 300 HPE engine. Pushing well over 23 hp, this engine is one of Vespa’s most powerful and fuel-efficient engine yet.

Design

Starting off with the design, just like the rest of the GTS range; the GTS Super Tech maintains a perfect balance between its roots and modernity in the lines of its body. From the front, the GTS Super Tech features a redesigned shield as well as a new horn cover design which is distinctive to this model.

Besides this, the Vespa GTS 300 HPE Super Tech gets special glossy black rims, honeycomb grill, yellow decorative stickers and yellow-painted front shocks which makes it look much more aggressive than the standard GTS. Unique to this mode, the wording “hi-tech” is stitched on the seat.

The high-end GTS Super Tech features a fully digital 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display with an integrated GPS navigation system as well as Vespa’s MIA smartphone connectivity system.

On the creature comfort side, the under-seat compartment can accommodate two demi-jet helmets. The GTS also comes equpieed with a built-in USB port inside the glove compartment which can be used to charge electronic devices such as smartphones.

Engine

In the case of the powerplant, the GTS Super Tech is powered by Vespa’s 300cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This 300 HPE (High-Performance Engine) stands out in terms of performance, rideability and fuel efficiency. Mated to a CVT; the GTS 300 HPE Super Tech pushes 23.46hp @ 8,250 rpm and  26 Nm of peak torque @ 5,250 rpm.

Vespa says everything from the cylinder head to pistons, intake and exhaust valves have been redesigned to increase the performance of the new 300cc HPE engine. Besides this, the overhead valves, intake line as well as the high-pressure multi-jet injector have been updated to ensure smooth revs at any speed. The transmission has also been revised with a more robust belt to reduce friction and noise.

Suspension, Brakes and Electronics

In the case of suspension, a single-arm with coil spring and single shock absorber at the front and a double hydraulic shock absorber (with preload-adjustable on 4 positions) at the rear take care of suspension duties. Braking is done via hydraulically operated 220 mm stainless steel disc up front and a hydraulically operated 220 mm stainless steel disc at the rear. In the case of electronics, the GTS Super Tech features ASR electronic traction control and ABS as standard.

Vespa GTS 300 HPE Super Tech Price Malaysia

The new Vespa GTS 300 HPE Super Tech is available in two colours; Black Vulcano and Grey Materia with a starting price of RM 33,300 in Malaysia. An array of accessories are also available for this model to personalise your own ride.
