Could this be a hint to a new Royal Enfield product range?
Eicher Motors, which is the parent of Royal Enfield is applying for two new trademarks, namely “Sherpa” and “Hunter”. According to Indian Autos Blog, the two are model names and the Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer may be hinting on a new product range.
The name “Sherpa” has appeared from the brand in the 1960s but “Hunter” is an all-new name. There are no conclusive statements made regarding the usage of the names. Royal Enfield will be finalizing its product lineup to comply with the BSVI emission standards for 2020. Despite that, there is no clear evidence of how the nameplates will be utilized.
However, it is clear from Royal Enfield’s CEO Vinod Darsari that the brand has plans to grow. In doing so, it has launched its new Royal Enfield 2.0 business strategy. It comes with four key points, one of them being “expanding product range”.
Royal Enfiled has just launched two new entry-level variants of current machines. Therefore there is a lack of assurance as to the usage of the trademarked names. Though we are certainly excited to see what Darsari and the brand can offer to the market.
