There is no doubt that Honda is perhaps one of the most well-known motorcycle brands that are still active today. Started in 1949, the brand made its debut with its first proper motorcycle- the Dream D-Type. After almost 70 years, it is still one of the top guns in the industry. It has reached impressive milestones in 2019. Rounding up the end of the decade, the Japanese firm has produced its 400 millionth motorcycle.

2019 has been a whirlwind for the brand as it came out with several eye-catching bikes such as the Fireblade and CT125. It is also the 50th anniversary of the Japanese superbike Honda CB750 Four introduced in 1969. It took 20 years for it to reach a production unit of 10 million. Now, bikes are produced at a rate of approximately 20M a year, as quoted from Ride Apart.

50 per cent of the production stemmed from India and Indonesia, which are two of the greatest markets in the industry. Europe accounted for 620 000 units between April 2018 and March 2019.

Happy anniversary, Honda!
