MV Agusta CEO Timur Sardarov said in an interview that MV Agusta will produce a 350 cc engine to increase sales in Asian markets.
MV Agusta wants to bump their sales across all markets. But the Italian manufacturer has its sights set on Asian markets. Unfortunately for them, MV Agusta doesn’t build any small-displacement motorcycles.
In Asian markets, the most popular engine displacement is small to medium-sized engines. With that in mind, MV Agusta CEO, Timur Sardarov, has said in an interview that the Italian manufacturer will bring a new 350 cc engine to the market.
The timeframe for this engine to arrive, alongside a new smaller sportbike, is 2021.
Timur Sardarov goes even further by saying that the engine already exists. It is a twin-cylinder engine. The CEO doesn’t say if this engine is a V-twin or a parallel twin. But we bet it will be a parallel twin.
This is another step in MV Agusta’s strategic plan for the next five years. The objective is that MV Agusta gets more sales and revenues, and in turn, annual production reaches 25.000 units.
We expect to see the new bike and 350 cc engine at next year’s EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show. And if successful, this small capacity engine should equip more models like a small sport-tourer or naked.
