The Honda Asia Journey will take place in Malaysia for the fourth consecutive year.
Boon Siew Honda, along with the Honda Group of Companies in the Asia & Oceania region yesterday, formally kicked off the 2019 Honda Asian Journey touring activity. For the fourth consecutive year, Malaysia has been chosen as the host country for this prestigious international touring event with Boon Siew Honda as the main host.
Honda Asian Journey is a global touring event organized annually by the Honda Group of Companies in the Asia & Oceania region. This is to celebrate the joy of touring on Honda Big Bikes. The Honda Asian Journey started back in 2016. Back then participants rode along the scenic route across peninsular Malaysia before ending the tour at the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) event.
2019 Honda Asian Journey: October 31 – November 3
For the 2019 Honda Asian Journey, the organizer has decided to utilize the Honda CBR series to showcase the series power and agility while maintaining its built quality throughout the journey. Speaking during the 2019 Honda Asian Journey welcoming dinner, Boon Siew Honda Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr Keiichi Yasuda highlight the capability of the Honda CBR Series. “Honda CBR series serves as a platform for us to produce an excellent bike by creating a perfect balance between power and agility.” He later expresses his joy for the Honda CBR series to be used for this touring activity.
The touring activity will be joined by over 70 riders and participants comprising of customers, journalists, Honda dealers, and associates from six countries, namely Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and India utilizing Honda CBR series.
The journey began on October 31 at the Sepang International Circuit. Before the flag-off, riders gathered for safe riding training and bike familiarization with the Honda CBR series.
The flag off session was attended by Ryo Takahashi of Asian Honda Motor Co. Ltd and Keiichi Yasuda of Boon Siew Honda. The first leg of the journey will take the participant to the historical city of Malacca.
The itinerary of the Honda Asian Journey 2019 are as follows:
30 October: Participants arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport before joining the welcoming dinner at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
31 October: Safety riding and bike familiarization activities at Sepang International Circuit. Riders will then depart for the first touring activities south to Malacca for local cultural activities.
1 November: Participants will visit the local fish village to enjoy local seafood cuisine. Participants will then continue the journey to the highest resort in Malaysia, Genting Highland.
2 November: The touring activities continue to Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The participant will be led to an exclusive tour of the iconic Petronas Twin Tower. The excitements continue into the night as participants and invited guests to attend a racing night celebratory dinner. The dinner features an exclusive appearance by Honda MotoGP riders.
3 November: The main highlight for Honda Asian Journey will be on this day. Participants will flag off from MAEPS, Serdang towards Sepang International Circuit. They will head to the 2019 Malaysian MotoGP to show support toward Honda MotoGP riders. Honda Asian Journey riders will join the local Honda Big Bike riders and members of the Honda RS150R owners. There will be nearly 1000 riders joining the MotoGP convoy to Sepang Circuit.
