After an unfortunate ankle injury in Argentina, Frenchman Romain Febvre is all geared up to make his return to the MXGP in Agueda, Portugal.
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP’s Romain Febvre is set to make his return to the FIM Motocross World Championship in Portugal this weekend. Febvre has sustained a broken ankle in the opening round of the championship in Argentina and has missed four rounds. Febvre’s performance has been consistent and impressive throughout the start. He won the qualifying race and was in his best form. After his fall in the second race of the Argentinian Grand Prix, his magnificent run fell short. He then went through a surgery in Belgium in March.
According to Yamaha Racing, Febrve has now completed an intensive rehabilitation program and is able to race again. The Frenchman has been getting back on track and will be making his comeback in Agueda. Previously, Dean Ferris had replaced him for the race in Great Britain.
“I’m excited to start racing again. My foot is not yet 100% as it is expected to take a few more weeks for the mobility to improve. I still have pain sometimes, but it is not too bad. It has been almost 9-weeks since the operation and I realise that I need a starting point to return to racing, even if it is not 100% because there is no guaranteed time frame in which it will be 100%. I can’t wait for it, because I will lose too much time. I look forward to returning to Portugal. It is because I like the track there, so I look forward to rediscovering my speed and to start rebuilding my race condition,” says Romain Febvre as quoted from Yamaha Racing.
